Epilachna is a genus of beetle in the family Coccinellidae, including several pest species, such as the Mexican Bean Beetle . Brown beetles with brown spots, yellow worms, eggs and Samadhi stage are found on the leaves. Beetles and moths eat the greenery of the leaves. The leaves dry out and burn. When the attack is severe it affects the growth of the plant.
Collect and destroy beetles by hand. Collect the eggs, larvae and samadhi stages found in the leaves and keep them in a perforated polythene cage. When the friendly insects hatch, open them and leave them in the garden. Sprinkle 5% neem extract and 10% peruvalam extract.
